
Dr. Chapas graduated magna cum laude in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an M.D. with honors from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chapas completed her internal medicine internship at Mount Auburn Hospital/Harvard Medical School and her dermatology residency in the Boston University/Tufts University combined program. Dr. Chapas continued her training as a fellow in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York.
After her post-graduate training, Dr. Chapas joined the staff at Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Chapas is involved in several cutting edge research studies investigating the use of lasers and light devices for medical and cosmetic conditions. As an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Chapas is in charge of the senior dermatological surgery clinic and actively supervises the training of medical residents in dermatological surgery.
Dr. Chapas' dedication to patient care, teaching and research has been recognized by her patients, her students and her colleagues. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Lasers in Medicine & Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, The American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and the Hellenic Medical Society of New York.
